Introduction

Tēnā koutou katoa

Welcome to JC45A. This website primarily caters to Whānau and friends of those who are locked up. We understand the difficulties faced by those of us who are on the outside looking in, trying to provide comfort items for loved ones and friends who have lost their liberty to do so for themselves.

The products we offer here are manufactured and customized to comply with the Authorised Property Rules ("APR") under section 45A of the Corrections Act 2004. These rules are available for reference at the bottom of our Home page. As such, we do not offer items or variables that may run afoul of the rules. For instance: there are no items of clothing with gang related colours or advertising prints; plastic containers, drinking bottles and thermos flasks do not exceed one (1) Litre in capacity; pens do not contain springs; and so on.

Almost every item listed here is specifically manufactured to fit within the parameters of the APR to minimise potential disappointment and risk being rejected for non-compliance with the APR.

The CD player is manufactured from scratch to meet the requirements of the APR, while providing the best sound quality possible within that space. It is a costly exercise, but we are mindful of the scarcity of stereo sets in this time and age where technology advances have made those items almost obsolete.

We will continually look update our inventory and hope to subsequently offer specific items to the women's prison. In the meantime, we will start with the men.

We have come up with package deals and starter packs for flexible rates across multiple items, and ease of purchase. Starter packs have the basic options with items that reflect basic necessities up to the limit amount per item. The price of the basic package is deliberately affordable. Then there are the package deals that offer more items and customization based on individual needs.

The next part is the creation of a member's section in order to allow for the greatest customization of property items available. We have a small, dedicated team available to focus on this section, where requests would be available for procurement assistances on specific items (within the S45A scope) based on preference. Members would hold an account with us and will be invoiced on a post-purchase format. This is like a P119 system for property, but we will procure the items requested on your behalf based on the information provided. It is up to you to specify the items accurately, and completely.

Shipping of purchased items are tracked, and we will send an email via the eprisoner address to recipients providing tracking details on purchased item that are on the way to them. Tracking updates are traceable on our website.
